As WP2 leader he is responsible to deliver high quality results from all tasks in WP2 on post-harvest strategies, translate the results to practical advices for use by key-users in MyToolBox during the course of the project. Dr. Suman will act as contact person for BARILLA and will lead the tasks performed by BARILLA. He is BARILLA’s Food Chemistry & Safety Research Manager. He has a degree in Analytical Chemistry, and a Master in Science, Technology and Management. He obtained his PhD in Science and Technology of Innovative Materials. Expert knowledge in supramolecular chemistry, food contact materials. His research focus is on food chemistry, sensing, and mass spectrometry applications for safety and characterization of food products. Member of CEN Working Group on Biotoxins and vice President of ILSI Task Force on Natural Toxins & Processing Contaminants. Grad-student and PhD supervisor for more than 10 years with experience in lecture-academic teaching activities within Masters for post-grad students. Section Editor of the World Mycotoxin Journal. Editorial Advisory Boards of Food Additives and Contaminants Journal, International Journal of Polymeric Materials. Member of the Board of the European Technology Platform (Italian Section) "Food For Life". Member of the Directive Board of the Italian Chemistry Society – Mass Spectrometry Division. He has been involved in various National/European Funded Projects and presently he is WP Leader in the EU-FP7 FoodIntegrity Project. Experience in international events either for Membership in Scientific Committee or for Coordination and Chairmanship in Conference Sessions. Scientific production documented by 74 presentations at national and international conferences and 44 scientific papers in international journals.
